Yeah he's had a lot of injustice done to him lately. The Origins movie was a horrible display of his character, that wasn't even gambit in that film- more like some power ranger version of him. He's suffered in the books too. I think the only person that knows how to write him is Chris Claremont. Which sucks cause he's such a cool character. They need to have him take more command in story lines or at least be central to what happens like in Days of Future Past. Regardless he's still my fave X-Man though, lol
oh man! i agree with the claremont comment! When claremont wrote him, he was such a badass character. Gambit became the one character i looked forward to every issue, just the way he interacts with all the other characters.
I am going to ignore your comment about origins movie i haven't been able to wash that stink off.And i agree with you.
It seems when people write gambit nowadays(which isn't much)they make it so boring and they try to ride on the coat tails of the past stories from the claremont era. Move on guys, make him cool again! EVOLVE!
Exactly! That's what keeps these cool characters alive is to keep them EVOLVING! Imagine if Batman had remained the same as when Bob Kane first envisioned him... Without Bill Finger adding the elements we all love, that character would have likely become stale as well.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a great writer that comes along & loves the character of Gambit, then does something great with him. Who knows, maybe you'll draw it, lol. I know I'd love to be on a series like that.
I'm gonna have to post my old Gambit drawing on here now, ha. I'd like to see you do another Gambit some time man, I like your take on him 0_0
